A beautiful swimming hole tucked in the mountains, Blue Hole is
a must see if you are in the area. You can hike in, drive, or arrive
by horseback (from the campground!). Fed by a mountain
stream, it is clean and lush. We promise that you will be awed by
this place.
Barter Theater (Virginia)
Located in Abingdon Virginia, the Barter Theatre is one of the oldest professional
theatres in the nation. Began in 1933 with tickets to their shows being "purchased"
with produce and livestock, the theatre remains popular for its ever-changing plays,
ranging from classics like "It's A Wonderful Life" and "Cinderella" to wonderful lesser
knowns. So relax after a day on the trails and catch a play in an intimate historic
theatre right around the corner!

Bristol Motor Speedway
The World's Fastest Half Mile...this 1/2 mile concrete racetrack is a major attraction
in Sullivan County. Host of the NASCAR Winston Cup, Busch, All Pro and Dash
Series, the speedway also hosts drag racing, autocross, "speedway in lights" and
much more. There's always something going on over there!

Just around the corner in Hampton, TN you can hike alongside the Appalachian Trail
and visit Laurel Falls, a beautiful water fall tucked into the hills. This area is also
great for mountain biking, backcountry camping, and trout fishing.
While staying at the campground, you may want to take a few days off riding and

Bristol Rhythm & Roots Festival
This 3 day festival is held every September, celebrating Bristol's musical heritage
with country, bluegrass, gospel and roots music. With over ten stages layed out in
downtown Bristol, there is always good music playing.

Blue Plum Festival
Bluegrass music in downtown Johnson City. This music and arts festival goes on for
2 days and is free for everyone.

Carter Family Fold
Within an hours drive, in Hiltons VA, you can visit the homestead of country music's
first family, the Carters. Catch one of their weekly Saturday shows and visit the
museum for a dose of history and mountain folk culture.

About 30 minutes away you can visit this historic eighteenth-century,
water-powered grist mill which is still in operation! Offering freshly-milled corn
meal , grits and other wholesome products, you can also shop local handmade crafts
such as textiles, candles, furniture and more. But the best part about this place is
the food! Their mouth-watering, hickory-smoked barbecue is the best around!

Virginia Creeper Trail
Located in Abington Virginia, hikers, bicyclists, equestrians, and anyone who wants a
good hike will love this trail. A converted 34-mile scenic railroad bed, this
recreational facility has everything you need with numerous shuttles and bike rental
facilities nearby. And don't worry, you don't have to go up to come down; you can
shuttle your bike to the top and enjoy a beautiful long ride to the bottom!
Bristol Caverns
Go cave exploring in the beautiful Bristol Caverns. The Cherokee Indians used the
cave as an escape route after raiding the settlers in the area. Under the earths
surface are large chambers containing formations of stalactites and stalagmites
columns.
